How have your first few weeks been?

I think the first few weeks have been going good I think that I am quite close to achieving one of my goals witch was  to move up to tuakana. I think I have made good choices in my learning so far I do sit with my friends sometimes but I do still forces and get all my work done. The things that I am looking forward to is camp. I would also like to be a leader for events like the disco so I am hoping that I can prove that I am a good person for the job.

The old house

Hi my name is Grace Gorge I have ginger hair and I always wear them in braids. I also have ginger freckles covering my whole faces I live with my Mum My Dad and my dog Toby. My life sounds pretty good right”  but isn't the fairy tale life. My Brother was sent of to war two years ago he writes to us occasionally mama worries if he does not reply at his normal time. I don't worry so much because I know my brother he is strong and he knows if something bad is going to happen.

I live on Harley road Papa says it was named after my great great grandfather Harley Gorge I am one of the first house on the street we have a flag flying at our house it has the union Jack on it I think it is pretty cool. Our street is one of the longest streets in town I wreck in. you know when we are close to the end of the street because Huge big trees shadow you and at the very end there is a crooked house that is missing wood panels my friends think it is a haunted house because on halloween last year there were lights going which I don't believe one bit because how would that house have power if it is missing wood panels.

It was week later I had been thinking about the old house at the end of the road and it was really bugging me so I asked some of my friends to come and check it out with me it took a lot of convincing but they came anyway. Once we had arrived I slowly walked up to the house and knocked on the door I listed for a while nobody came to the door I slowly reached out for the door handle my hand shaking I rest my hand on the handle and twist it. The door creaks, I push the door open and step back two huge rats run out.

I peep my head through to see if anything else was inside I call my friends over Charlie holds back shaking his head. When we walk in there is a kitchen with pots and pans on the ground I take a couple of steps closer i see a huge cabinet lying on the ground glass shattered everywhere. It seems that a family had lived here there were letters and photos It looked like that had just left in rush to go on holiday which is highly unlikely. I look around to see if there were any more clues about who they were. I walk into a room there were books scatter blankets on the floor and teddy bear with a tag saying Rosie in the corner I hear a noise i turn around to see a little girl hiding and scared I tried talking to hear but she wouldn't move she final stands up and starts to tell me her story.

She told me her story “My papa had come back from war early well that what he told us really he had been hiding I can remember the day it happened three big tall men dressed in the same green colour uniform with huge big boots came searching all through our house mama was crying she pushed me into my room and shut the door. I had my own mini packen attack throwing all my books and banging. They threatened to kill all our family if we did not tell them where our Papa was I missed most though because after my panic attack I leant against the wall myfaces felt stiff from the tears when I woke up mama was gone and the three men. This time I did nothing I curled up into a ball and rocked side to side I have been living here for a year now and I have learnt to live with what I have”.

From that day I would go for walks done to the old house with food clothes and water because not everybody lives a fairy tale life. My brother returned home 3 weeks ago he has some mental breakdowns  sometimes it make me sad but I think what Gabby felt when the men took her mother and think to myself I can get through this.

I hope that I will come to understand why people upcycle and is cheaper. I think that I will need to know about what other people think about it. I hope to be able to not threw things out and find something to do with it. I think I will need to use connecting and curiosity.

Toblerone changes shape

The toblerone is changing it’s shape by making a bigger gap Mondelez International is the one that made the gap bigger because they need to make the bars weight lighter. The company said they had to make the bar bigger our the prize higher. So they decide to change the shape some people are mad about the descoin people said that they should of made the prize higher. Words :Mondelez International is one of the biggest snack companies made. : Mondelez  it is a mash up of words that mean delicious: reduce to change the size so it is smaller or less amount of it. Kiwi kids news.

If I could go back in time

If I could go anywhere back in time I would go to the first day people came alive, because I would like to see how people really came alive. Bam I arrive the first thing  I see is a puddle of water forming in front of my eyes. The next thing I saw was an ape appear and watched it form into  I couldn't believe what I was seeing I rub my eyes thinking it would despair. But it stays there it starts to move I couldn't believe what I was seeing I was the first person alive to notice what was going on.

What sport would you like to be a SuperStar

I would like to be a superstar in swimming because you can go to the olympics. I also would like to do swimming because I love the water. I would rather be the superstar instead of being a coach because the coach does not really get recognized.

What charity do you support

I would support Star Ship because they are saving little kids lives and one day it could be someone you love. Star Ship has been going for 25 years. To help raise money for Star Ship you can do runs around Auckland you can also go to their website www.starship.org.nz and donate. The reason why I would support Star Ship instead of the SPCA is because one day the kids live's that Star Ship saves could grow up to teach your grandkids or look after them when they are sick. I  think that Star Ship are a great charity to support.

Around the world

            

The first country that I would go to was Holly wood because I would like to see the Hollywood walk of fame. In Hollywood I would bring a camera so I could take lots of photos and I would bring a lot of money so I could buy heaps of stuff.

The second country I would go to Hawaii because I would like to go swimming. The things that I would bring would be togs, sunblock, camera and money.

The third place that I would go would be New york because I have always wanted to go there I would like to see the statue of liberty. The things that I would bring would be camera, money so I could buy lots of clothes.

  

   

What would happen in your best weekend

Ahhh the smell of pretzels and hot food as Freya, Georgia and I hope out of our limousine. We had all the money we needed to have a nice stay in California and buy a lot of things when we go shopping. We start heading to shops we push through people to get to our first shop. The first shop we went into was Dotti and bought 3 outfits each we also went into Factorie, Petter Alexandra, North Beach, Adidas and Rebel sport we end up with 25 outfits each including shoes. The noise of the people in the shops and the sound of the money going in the cash registers the best sound ever. I feel chills (good chills) go through my body as a stare straight across the street at the biggest flashiest hotel called Mondrian Hotel. There were people to take what we had just brought up to our rooms. There was a big food bar with pizza lollies sushi cake and lots more food. I jump on the beds like in the movies we snuggle down to watch some movies and head off to sleep.

The next day we try on all our clothes and find the best outfit to go to the beach in Freya is wearing her new hat and tog's with some shorts and a unicorn top, Georgia was wearing here new tog's and a beach dress. I was wearing new sunglass a hat and a and a long t-shirt over top of my tog's. At the beach we had a photo shoot, once we got home we had a nice bubble bath and headed off to the movie premiere passengers. We met all these famous people, but sadly the weekend came to an end and we had to head back home.

Third step was to find a photo of you and adjust the lighting on your faces so you could see your faces better.
Fourth step was to play around with the fonts and the colors to make it look different to everybody else.
Fifth step was to save and share so it could be print out

How my brain works

Today we learned about how the brain works here are some tips.

1. Drink lots of water because otherwise you will dehydrate and that will stop you from learning
2. Eat brain food because otherwise you will be hungry and that will make you stop learning
3. Get enough sleep otherwise you will be tired and that will stop you from learning
4. Take a brain break because you need a break from what you are learning.

Pepeha

A Pepeha is how you would interduce yourself to sombody when you meet them for the first time. For my art I put waves because I love the beach. I put mount Te Ahora because that is my mount, I put cabbage trees as my family. I also did birds as my couins and grandpearnts, as well as stars that repersent the people that died in war. 

Tuakana Teina

I put myself at Tupu because I think sometimes I don't always make the right decision in my learning. But I think throughout the year I will make more of the right choices for my learning, and hopefully, I can move myself up to Tuakana soon. To help me get to Tuakana I will sit with people that I will not talk to our easily get distracted.

Marama Way

I think that I am a driver because I can learn by myself but I also can learn in a group. I think I need to work on not getting distracted, because I seem to stop what I am doing and forget what I am doing our I run out of time. I also seem to get frustrated if I can't work out something, which stops me from learning.

Treaty Waitangi

Waitangi day is important day in history the reason we celebrate Waitangi day is because it was a day the Maori and the British came together and signed the Treaty of Waitangi. The Treaty of Waitangi was signed on the 6th of February 1840 it was signed in a place called the bay of island up north. The first signature Hōne Heke Pōkai. The day was first officially commemorated in 1934, and it has been a public holiday since 1974. That is why 6 February is a public holiday. over 500 Māori chiefs signed the Treaty and some of them were girls.

My multiple intelligence test results

Today I did a multiple intelligence's test to see the way I learn best. I have found out that I am not much of Naturalistic because I good 0%, that is sort of a surprise because I love building huts in the bush and climbing trees. I also got 13% Mathematical which is not much of a surprise because I have never really been interested in maths. My three greatest strengths are Body smart, Picture smart and word smart. I have learned that I like to learn in lots of different ways. I think I am going to learn to work with Nature because I got 0%. I think that the MI test shows that I can work in many different ways.
